The danger has not yet cleared from above the head of Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Spain’s Real Madrid, according to reports published by the Spanish network Relevo on Saturday evening.

Ancelotti may find himself out of Real Madrid, despite the recent calm after the team’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna in the match prior to the last international break.

Relevo reported that Real Madrid has already taken steps and contacted a potential replacement should the decision be made to dismiss Ancelotti. These discussions took place following the team’s loss to AC Milan in the Champions League.

The network explained that Real Madrid has chosen former coach Santiago Solari as the preferred candidate to take over, with the change likely to occur if Ancelotti loses the upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool.

Solari returned to Spain a few days ago as part of emergency contingency plans at Real Madrid, and he is reportedly ahead of Raul Gonzalez, coach of the Merengue reserve team, in the race to replace Ancelotti.

For his part, Ancelotti remains confident in his ability to lead the team through the coming period and return them to their previous form, both domestically and in Europe.
